The area
Brighton Council covers Bridgewater, Gagebrook, Old Beach, Brighton, Pontville, Honeywood. It is one of the council areas in Greater Hobart, and it runs its own parking officers for its own streets under the Tasmania road rules.

How it patrols
Brighton Council enforces timed and paid parking during the hours on the sign, and No Stopping, clearways, bus zones, driveways and disabled bays at all times. Hours are printed on each sign or meter, so read the sign. Council examples include 9am to 6pm Monday to Friday for a 30-minute meter. Outside the signed hours the example signs show no time limit.

Paying and permits
Paid parking in Brighton is limited to the busiest streets and the council's own car parks; the signs and meters there say what applies. The Hobart CBD uses EasyPark.

Lost pets
Check Brighton Council's website for where it holds impounded animals; City of Hobart uses Dogs' Homes of Tasmania (Hobart).
Mark your pet missing on Council dog registration and your microchip registry so any vet or shelter that scans the chip sees it, and drop a lost pet pin on the map at the street it went missing from.
